End of Swim

Zane had his last swim meet Monday.  He has had a fun season and I think he is ready for a break.  It has been pretty hot even when you are swimming.

Pops and Ra visit

Pops and Ra got to come for a short vist this past Sunday and Monday.

They got to see Dalton play baseball Sunday.

Dalton ripped one up the middle his the pitcher square in the chest.  Yikes!

Then they got to see Zane swim on Monday.

Zane did a better job he took off 2 seconds on his back stroke and 3 seconds off his free style.

Then that evening he was fling his plane that they bought him for his birthday.

We were all glad they got to come and see us.  The boys were just mad it was not for longer.

Art Gallery

Zane had an Art Gallery show on Friday.  He had art camp all week.

Zane had a lot of fun and made a lot of cool art.

Basketball Camp

Dalton had basketball camp this week.  He was at Steele High School.  He loved going.

This was the day of the show.  They came out dribbling to music.

This was the figure eight drill.

Zane's Swim Meet

Yesterday was Zane's first meet.  It was 101 here yesterday so it sounds like a great day for a swim meet.  Not so much for the parents who were melting away.  The swimmers it felt good.

He was all arms. He forgot to kick.

He did a good job he just did not finish where he wanted to.

David and Dalton were both cheering him on.

Now on to the free style.  His dive has improved so much from last year.

By this time his goggles were full of water and he was just trying to get to the other side.

He was made about his goggles, but he still did good.  We told him he would do better next time.  He said that's OK I still had fun.  Later in the night he was in the free style relay and he swam much better.  Long hot night but fun.

Last Day of School

Thursday was the last day of school for the boys.  They were ready for it to be over and start their summer.

Dalton will now be a 6th grader.  That is hard to believe.

Zane will be a 5th grader.  That is even harder to believe.

I always take the boys to lunch on the last day of school to celebrate.  This year we took some of their friends, David and Peyton.  They all were very excited to start their summer.  We had a fun afternoon.  When we got home they played wiffel ball the rest of the day.  It was a great start to summer.

Awards Day at School

We have to super smart boys.  They both have had the awards ceremonies at school.

Dalton was AB honor roll.  He got excellence awards in math and science.  He was commended in math and science on his TAKS tests.  That is the standardized test.  That means he only missed one question.  We are very proud of him.

Zane was also AB honor roll.  He got the Presidential award of achievement.  You have to have a certain grade point average to receive this award.  We are also very proud of him too.

It has been a great year and we will now have a 5th and 6th graders.  It does not seem possible.  They are growing up way to fast.

Monday our baby turned 10.  I guess we should stop calling him that but he is the baby.  We had dinner at the house and then we did cake.

It was an ice cream cake.

He opened presents.  He got a Tony Hawk skateboard game for the Wii.

Last he got a croquette set.  The boys have been wanting to try it so we got it.

Then we set it up in the front yard and played a couple of games.

It was a nice night at home.
